To many, simply visiting luxurious Southern California is enough. For those wishing to get a little more out of
life, spend some time at one of the area's finest golf clubs; Steele Canyon Golf Club. This
27-hole course was personally designed by Gary Player who gave special attention to the details.
It and it paid off as Steele Canyon has been awarded Golf Digest's Four Star rating, one of only three golf clubs
so honored in San Diego County.
While a 27-hole course is unique in itself, each of the three nine-hole courses that make-up Steele Canyon varies
even more. Each golf course offers a distinct environment and type of play for golfers of all ages and abilities.
All the golf courses offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and canyons.
The first of three, the rugged Canyon Nine course integrates perfectly the natural surroundings
into some spectacular shots at breakthrough elevations. This nine-hole course is 3,206 yards from the long tees
and 2,221 from the short ones. With ratings ranging from 35.9 to 33.0 you will find a solid, but challenging course here.
The second nine, the Ranch Nine meanders through the picturesque fields of a working ranch. A
little longer than the Canyon Nine, this nine is 3,561 yards from the long tees and 2,434 from the short ones. A
poorly placed shot here and you might well loose your ball in a cow pasture for good.
By far the most serene nine, the Meadow Nine drifts along a pastoral valley with scenic woodlands,
streams and native wildlife. Playing these holes and you will really feel like you are out in the wilderness. With
water coming into play on a few holes in the form of streams and brooks, this is another course where a misguided
shot could be swallowed up for good.
Combine any of these three courses at the Steele Canyon Golf Club and you will have a game of golf that will be
nothing short of spectacular.
